JMC organized awareness campaign cum rally in collaboration with Govt. High School Pul Tawi

Under the guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission and on the instructions of Dr. Manmohan Singh, (KAS) Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh. R.S. Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC, Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, in collaboration with staff, VEC (Village Education Committee Members) flagged off rally from Govt. High School Pul Tawi to Bikram Chowk. The students of the Pul Tawi School participated in the rally alongwith the staff VEC members and JMC officers / officials. In the beginning the Joint Commissioner (A), JMC at the school premises sworn in and administer the Swachhta Oath to the officers, officials of JMC and school administration, VEC members and students. The motive of the rally was to aware the public and spread the message of Swachh Bharat Mission as well as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. The students of the school appealed the public to enroll their wards in govt. schools as free books, free uniforms and mid day meals are being provided in these schools. The Joint Commissioner (A), JMC while addressing the gathering appreciated the school administration to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in such kind of awareness programmes / rallies under Swachh Bharat Mission. He appealed the gathering to use dustbins installed and being provided by Jammu Municipal Corporation for disposal of garbage instead of throwing every nook and corner and also use individual and public toilets to avoid open defecation to make the healthy environment. He also appealed the public in general that the Govt. is providing free of cost uniforms, books as well as mid day meals in these school and even the highly qualified teaching staff has been deployed in Govt. Schools. The students also performed Nukad (Skit) at Bikran Chowk to aware the public in general to make our city clean and green and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation. One of the student Miss Shamshad Bano of 9th Class has been selected as Ambassador for Jammu Municipal Corporation to spread the message of Swachta in the common masses for the success of Swach Bharat Mission. The Headmaster of the Govt. School also Mrs. Sunita Gupta thanks the cooperation authorities for organizing awareness programmes / rally. At the end the Joint Commissioner (A), JMC distributed refreshments to the students participated in the programmes.
