Cleanliness, Sanitation and Fogging drive by Jammu Municipal Corporation

To intensify the cleanliness, sanitation and fogging drive, Jammu Municipal Corporation covered Ward No. 1, 2 and 3. The drive was launched by Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Hon’ble MLA, Jammu (East) and accompanied by Mr. Rajesh Sharma, (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), JMC and Sh. Ranjit Singh (KAS), Secretary, JMC. Adequate men and machinery was deployed by Health & sanitation wing / Transport wing of JMC for this drive. Drive was started from Panjtirthi Chowk via Chowk Chabbutra, Julluka Mohalla, Link road, Peer Mitha, Lakhdata Bazar etc. During the drive sweeping of main roads, by-lanes, de-silting of drains, and lime also sprinkled at every nook and corner of the roads of different bazaars was thoroughly taken up. Shopkeepers were advised to use dustbins for disposal of garbage of their establishments and dispose off the garbage at nearby collection point / container. About four mini trucks of Garbage and debris were removed with the help of vehicles deployed on the spot. The Shopkeepers as well as residents of different areas also assured their whole hearted cooperation to Jammu Municipal Corporation to conduct this kind of activities to make Jammu clean & green to make Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a successful mission. They also assured to JMC that all the shopkeepers will keep dustbins in their business premises and dispose off the garbage at a proper place so that the said area can be maintained clean and green. Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Hon’ble MLA while speaking on the occasion said that Swachh Abiyan launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India is a landmark programme that will transform the landscape of our country. He further added that pay special attention towards making the Abhiyan a grand success. He said that we have to maintain cleanliness so that there would be no diseases like dengue and malaria. Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Hon’ble MLA and Joint Commissioner (A) JMC appealed the public in general to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in keeping Jammu Clean & Green and also not to use polythene carry bags. He requested general public through electronic & print media to use dustbins / containers installed in their localities for throwing garbage to make Swachh Bharat Mission a successful mission.
