As a mark of celebration on the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel being celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), the Jammu Municipal Corporation today organized “Run For Unity” that started from Mubarak Mandi Complex to Zanana Park, Jammu. Dr. Nirmal Singh, Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister, J&K flagged off the rally in presence of Sh. Kavinder Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker, Mrs. Priya Sethi, Hon'ble Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Sh. Vikram Randhawa, Hon’ble MLC accompanied by Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari (IAS), Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. S.D. Singh (IPS), IGP, Jammu, Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS), Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and other officers/officials of JMC. A large number of Students and Teachers from various schools of Jammu City also participated in the event. The Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister administered a Pledge related to event. A skit was performed by the students of SRML Hr. Sec. School disseminating the message of cleanliness. This was followed by prize distribution for winners of Essay Competition arranged by JMC on 30/10/2017 on the topics of national integration and cleanliness. The Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister while lauding the efforts of participants in the event highlighted the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the unification of India and appealed to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of our nation.
