Commissioner, JMC took review of sanitation scenario in Jammu City.

Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS), Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation took a review of sanitation scenario in Jammu City during which he issued instructions to the concerned Officer for taking steps for installation of composting machines in bulk generator establishments like Hotels, Banquet and Fruit/Vegetable markets which would help in minimizing the accumulation of waste and added that compost so generated will also help the persons who associated with agriculture line. He directed the concerned Officer to utilize the men and machinery available with Corporation for maintaining proper sanitation conditions within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation. He added that some wards shall be selected as model wards for ensuring better scientific cleaning and its disposal including transportation after proper segregation. He also directed the Health Officer to maintain proper attendance of sanitation staff so that there can be no laxity in providing proper sanitation to the inhabitants of the City. He further stressed upon all the Officers to take sanitation of the City as a challenge and come with a road map on their level so that same is deliberated and action is taken on the actionable points and added that special focus shall be given to construction Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) in different wards of JMC under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) to get the areas falling within the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation open defecation free (ODF). He appealed the general public through this medium to extend their helping hand to Jammu Municipal Corporation in maintaining the proper sanitation and also to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission and Smart City. Among others Sh. Rishpal Singh (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), Sh. Neeraj Gupta(KAS), Chief Accounts Officer, Ms. Sunaina Sharma (KAS), Secretary, Ms. Vinakshi Koul (KAS), Asstt. Commissioner (Rev.), Sh. Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (Works), Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer, Sh. Tariq Raina, AEE (Transport), Sh. Amitabh Manhas, AEE (Mech), were also participated in the meeting.
