JMC initiated city beautification by way of Wall Painting.

Sh. Sat Paul Sharma, Hon’ble Minister for Housing & Urban Development Department, J&K today distributed the prizes to the winners and participants of wall painting competition organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation. Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Hon’ble MLA, Jammu (East) and Sh. K.B. Aggarwal (IAS), Financial Commissioner, Housing & Urban Development Department were Guests of Honour for the occasion. For beautification of Jammu City, Jammu Municipal Corporation has chalked out comprehensive plan by way of wall painting in different areas of the city, development of rotaries, beautification/landscaping under flyover and different chowks, triangles etc. The beautification will be done on the theme of “Swachh Bharat Mission” and propagation of Dogra culture. The function was attended by the Officers of JMC and J&K Bank, besides participants, school children and parents of students. After adjudging the paintings by a penal of judges, two participants namely Mr. Muzzafar Ahmed Bhat and Mr. Dimple Kumar were declared as winners, Mr. Ramesh Chander Mahajan declared as 1st runner up and Mr. Rahul Shidra and Ms. Diksha Andotra were declared as 2nd runner up. The prize money for the winners was Rs. 15,000/- , Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 7,000/- for 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Besides, Rs. 500/- and a certificate of participation was also distributed to every participant as consolation prize. The programme was organized by JMC in collaboration with J&K Bank Ltd. During the function, the Hon’ble Minister for Housing & Urban Development Department appreciated JMC for organizing wall painting competition and also congratulated the artists and school children for participating in such competitions and added that the aim of organizing such wall painting competition is to enhance the beauty of the City of Temples. This endeavor is a part of Swachh Bharat Mission an initiative taken by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He emphasized that it is duty of every citizen as well as Govt. functionaries to put their valuable efforts for achieving the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission. He further asked JMC to organize such types of events/wall painting competitions to aware the general masses about the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission and also to beautify the city. Hon’ble Minister for Housing & Urban Development Department also thanked J&K Bank for their tremendous contribution as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards enhancement of beauty of city of Temples. The painting competition organized on the walls both sides near Hotel Asia, Jammu wherein various artists from different walks of life and children from different schools viz. K. C. International, K. C. Public School, Jodhamal Public School, Jammu Sankriti School, Jammu, IIT, Jammu and Army School, Kaluchak participated in the painting competition. The Artists painted the walls on different themes and gave colours to their imagination. The theme of wall painting competition was aimed at Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart City, Nature and Environment, Social message, Art, Culture and Heritage of City of Temples. During the function, Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS), Commissioner, JMC Sh. Rajesh Kumar Savan (KAS), Vice Chairman JDA, Sh. Rishal Singh (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), JMC, Sh. Vinod Sharma, Sh Raman Koushal, Vice Presidents of J&K Bank, Ms. Sunaina Sharma (KAS), Secretary, JMC Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer, JMC alongwith other Officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation and J&K Bank were also present.
