Hon’ble Mayor, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta, Jammu Municipal Corporation today on 04.02.2019 chaired the General Functions Standing Committee meeting in the Conference Hall of JMC which was attended by the Hon`ble members of the Standing Committee viz Sh. Dinesh Gupta, Sh. Neeraj Puri, S. Sucha Singh, Sh. Akshay Sharma, Smt. Sunita Gupta, Smt. Anu Bali and Sh. Surjeet Singh. Commissioner JMC, Sh. Pankaj Magotra (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A) Sh. Pardeep Singh (KAS), Secretary Smt. Sunaina Sharma (KAS), Assistant Commissioner (R) Sh. Prem Singh, Executive Engineer (T) Sh. Arun Gupta and others senior officers of JMCwere also present.
Mayor, JMC directed the concerned authorities to speed up process of recruitment of safaikaramcharies to improve the sanitation work of every ward. He stressed upon the authorities to start the Bio-Metric attendance of sanitation staff. Mayor issued instructions to the concerned authorities that JMC parks should be maintained at the earliest by constituting two teams of gardeners/malies. He also issued instructions for engagement of linemen and helpers in Electric section through NGO to achieve the goal of providing the street light facilities to the general public at large. During the meeting the Mayor also issued directions to the concerned authorities to speed up the process of door to door collection, night scavenging, purchasing of wooden wheel barrows, auto for lifting of segregated waste from the household, lifting of stray animals. He emphasized that building permission may be given in one go and the cases pending for compounding shall be considered on priority basis so that general public may not suffer. Time frame for completion of development works also fixed and the mulba remained at the site after completion of construction / development works shall be removed by the contractor at its own and for the same NOC from the concerned councillor shall also be taken for release of the payment.
The members also raised the issue of street lights, recruitment of Safaikaramcharies at the earliest to meet up the problem of sanitation and providing of vehicles for lifting of garbage. They also demanded speedy disposal of building permission cases.
Commissioner, JMC assured the Chair that every possible steps shall be taken for better functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Hon’ble Mayor assured all the members that necessary steps be taken for smooth functioning of the corporation and speedy disposal of the grievances of the general public. He also thanked the entire team of JMC for showing their keen interest in resolving the issues.
