Press Release on 3rd march 2020JMC intensifies sanitation drive and de-silting of drains.
In order to give boost to the Clean and Green Jammu Drive, on the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Ms. Avny Lavasa (IAS) today launched Sanitation Drive in the area of Ward No. 14, Bhagwati Nagar near Shanti ghat and adjoining areas. The drive was launched in presence of Chairman Swachh Bharat Mission, Sh. Suraj Prakash Padha, Councillor of W.No. 14, Sh. Parmod Kapahi and Nodal Officer, Solid Waste Management, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal.
During the drive, thorough cleaning/desilting of the lanes/drains in all the areas of the ward was done. Besides sprinkling of lime was also done to beat the odour and foul smell during the drive. Additional men and machinery was also deployed during the drive.
Hon’ble Chairman, Swachh Bharat Mission appeal the people to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation and use identified places for disposal of garbage. He also stressed to avoid use of polythene to the extent possible which is the major cause of blockage of drains and nallahs He stressed for putting every possible efforts in achieving goal of making city Jammu Clean & Green and aim of Swachh Bharat Mission.
Mr. Ashok Sharma, Ms. Santaosh Sharma, Ms. Radha Sharma, Mr. Raj Kumar, Darshan Lal and Satish Nargotra accompanied during the drive.
