Jammu Municipal Corporation has started home delivery of Birth & Death Certificates and approved building permission cases under “Doorstep Governance” initiative

Jammu Municipal Corporation has started home delivery of Birth & Death Certificates and approved building permission cases under “Doorstep Governance” initiative. The online system is launched by Hon’ble Mayor, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta & Hon’ble Deputy Mayor, Smt. Purnima Sharma in the presence of Ms. Avny Lavasa, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation this system is introduced to avoid enormous gathering of general public and to promote contactless efficient public service delivery system. This initiative is being taken to promote Digital India and E—Governance initiative of Govt. of India. This is 1st such type of Government public service delivery initiative in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Only very few States/UT's are providing such type of Government services at doorstep. It will provide great relief to the general public and also eliminate the requirement to reach JMC office for such services. This is in-house technology developed by the Information Technology department of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The requisite Fee is Rs 40 per birth/death certificate and Postal and Conveyance Charges Extra as per the below mentioned rates : 1. Within JMC Limits - Rs 50/- 2. Outside JMC Limits but within district - Rs 100/- 3. Outside District/Division but within JK UT- Rs 150/-. 4. Outside JK UT - Rs. 200/-. For building permission cases the fee is as per the approved plan and the Postal and Conveyance Charges are Rs 150 within JK UT and Rs 250 outside JK UT. In this system, SMS, E-mail & online payment gateway integration has been done and all the payments shall be received online through secure mechanism directly into the JMC bank account. The online receipt and the payment successful acknowledgement shall be provided to the applicant online. For Doorstep Birth/Death Certificate and Building permission, public has to visit www.jmcjammu.org then has to use Menu Option “E-Governance > Doorstep Governance > Apply online for birth/death certificate” and “E-Governance > Online Building Permission > Register for building permission” respectively. In case of Birth/Death, applicant shall be communicated through e-mail : [email protected] for available record verification. Self attested documents shall be asked from the applicant in case of alteration/corrections are required in the available record. Then documents verification and alteration/modifications of the available record done by JMC and an online payment fee link sent to the registered e-mail & mobile number of the applicant. On successful online fee payment, confirmation sent by JMC to the applicant and finally Birth/Death Certificate shall be dispatched through speed post to the applicant's registered address. In case of building permission cases after the approval of building permission cases by BOCA, an online payment fee link shall be sent to the registered email & mobile number of the applicant. On successful online fee payment, confirmation sent by JMC to the applicant and finally building permission shall be dispatched through speed post to the applicant's registered address.
