A Capacity Building Programme for Online Building Permission System (OBPS) for Architects/Engineers/Planner and empanelled professionals was conducted at Jammu Municipal Corporation which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta and Hon’ble Dy. Mayor, Ms. Purnima Sharma in presence of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Ms. Avny Lavasa (IAS) and G.S. Dhillion, Director, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (AMRUT Division), Govt. of India. The officials from Town and Country Planning Organization and National Institute of Urban Affairs along with experts from e-Governments Foundation, Govt. of India, New Delhi imparted training to Sr. Town Planners, Building Officers, Surveyors, Technical Asstts., Architects/Engineers/Planners and empanelled professionals from Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Development Authority, Directors Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, Town Planning Organization etc.
During the course of training the experts demonstrated the online building permission system & autocad drawings which will ease the system of getting building permission at the door step of applicants. The applicants can access to online building permission system from their homes without visiting the offices even they know the status of their building permission cases comfortably while sitting their homes.
The Commissioner, JMC while speaking on the occasion appealed the general public to get benefit of OBPS, as this is very and easy and time saving system and persons intend to get building permissions should access to this online system, as it is very transparent, accurate and time saving system and added that this system is also helpful for the Officers/Officials dealing with building permission system.
