Press Release on 19/04/2017Distribution of Dustbins by Jammu Municipal Corporation
For the grand success of Swachh Bharat Mission initiative taken by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Sh. Narinder Modi and on the instructions of Dr. Manmohan Singh, (KAS) Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh. R.S. Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A) and Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer JMC today in the presence of other sanitation staff of Health Wing distributed dustbins at Gole Market and Apsara Road Gandhi Nagar Jammu. On this occasion Sh. Kulbir Singh president Gole market association, Sh. Ashu Gupta Chairman and Sh. Amit Jandyal President Apsara Road Market association were present alongwith their other association members.
Speaking on this occasion Joint Commissioner (A) JMC appealed the association members to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation and the shopkeepers were asked to collect the garbage of their shops in these dustbins and the Safaikaramcharies of the areas will dispose the same. The shopkeepers can also dispose the garbage in the nearby containers / dustbins instead of throwing out of their shops. If anybody found shall be strictly dealt under the provisions of Municipal Corp. Act 2000.
Joint Commissioner (A), apprised the markets association that these dustbins are being distributed under Swachh Bharat Mission in order to improve the sanitation of area in the vicinity of these markets.
The sanitation of those areas where the dustbins were earlier provided has been improved. This process will remain continue till all the markets of city will not be covered.
Sh. Kulbir Singh president Gole market association, Sh. Ashu Gupta Chairman and Sh. Amit Jandyal President Apsara Road Market association appreciated the Corporation authorities to take steps in order to make Jammu clean and green. They also appealed the shopkeepers to collect the garbage in these dustbin for further disposal so that the roads and lanes remained neat & clean. They also assured their full cooperation to the Jammu Municipal Corporation for the success of swachh bharat mission. Sh. Surjit Singh, Sh. Beli Ram, Sh. Bachan, Sh. Sanjeev, Dr. B. R. Sharma, Sh. Anil Kohli, Raghav Mahajan besides other members of the associations were also present.
