On the directions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr. Manmohan Singh (KAS), an awareness camp for street vendors/rehri wallas was organised at Town Hall Jammu today on 29.04.2017. The Joint Commissioner (A), JMC Sh. R.S. Jamwal (KAS) presided over the awareness programme. The awareness programme for street vendors/rehriwalas was organised in presence of Chief Account Officer, JMC Sh. Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Secretary,JMC Sh. Ranjeet Singh (KAS), Assistant Commissioner (Rev) Mrs Venakshi Koul (KAS) and Revenue Officers of JMC. Under Swachh Bharat Mission Guidelines for Street vendors / Rehriwalas were issued by Sh. Ashwani Sudan, Revenue Officer, JMC to streamline the working of rehries. The rehriwalas were directed to install their rehries in designated rehri zones/specified area by Jammu Municipal Corporation only and were also directed not to encroach road and footpaths leading to traffic congestion in the city and were directed to get themselves registered in JMC. At the occasion the guidelines regarding maintenance of cleanliness in and around their working area, use of gloves and aprons and use of biodegradable items only were also issued. At the occasion the Jammu Municipal Corporation also distributed the dustbins and rehri plates with unique licence identity numbers amongst the street vendors/rehriwalas.
