Press Release on 29th May 2017Thematic Drive conducted by JMC in and around the Mosques
On the instructions of Sh. M. Raju (IAS) Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, JMC conducted thematic cleanliness drive in and around the mosques within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The drive was launched in view of holy month of Ramzan as the large no. of Devotees visit these mosques to offer prayers.
The drive was launched by Sh. R.S. Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC, Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer from Mosque at Gandhi Nagar Apsara Road Jammu.
The other main mosques which were covered in the drive are at Rail Head, Sanjay Nagar, Bahu Fort, Malik Market, Gujjar Nagar, Talab Khatikian, CPO Chowk, New Plot, Hyderpura Janipura.
The Imams of all these mosques were requested to spread the message of Swach Bharat Mission among the people who come to offer prayers in the mosques as their message have a great impact to the people. This will help to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission.
Banners highlighting the message which help to keep our clean and green our city were also placed on all the mosques so that the people visit these mosques during the month of holy Ramzan spread these messages among the general masses.
Cleanliness drives were conducted in and around all the mosques and the staff directed to maintain the cleanliness especially during the holy month of Ramzan as large no. of devotees visit these mosques to offer prayers.
The Contact nos. of field staff were also shared by the heads of these mosques so that at any time they call the field staff to redress their grievances if any.
The Joint Commissioner (A), JMC directed the Electric wing to repair all the defected street lights around all the mosques and en route so that the people don’t face any problems as people offer prayers during late hours also in this holy month of Ramzan.
The Joint Commissioner (A), JMC also directed to Engineering wing of JMC to takeup the minor repair work immediately so that the devotee do not face any difficulty.
The Imam of these masques appreciated the steps taken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation during the holy month of Ramzan and also assured that they will convey the message of swachta among the namazis for the success of Swach Bharat Mission.
