JMC Conducts drive against illegal hoardings, illegal rehries/pharies, encroachments of footpaths, polythene by shopkeepers, sanitation and other issues

Today on 15.03.2018, a special drive was conducted on the instructions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS) in the Bahu Fort area in connection with forthcoming holy Navratras. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Secretary, JMC Mrs. Sunaina Sharma (KAS) and Assistant Commissioner (Rev.), JMC, Mrs. Vinakshi Koul (KAS). Enforcement Officer Sh. Kamini Kesar alongwith their enforcement team, Revenue Officers Sh. Parmod Sabharwal, Sh. Ashwani Sudan and Sh. Sunil Gupta of JMC, team of concerned police station and other field staff of JMC also accompanied the drive. Drive was mainly focused on encroachments of footpaths, illegal hoardings, illegal rehries/pharies, polythene by shopkeepers, sanitation and other issues related to that area so that the forthcoming Navaratras Festival is celebrated in a smooth way. Special team of JMC removed 4 truckloads of illegal hoardings, illegal rehries/pharies and also removed encroachments from the footpath and pavements from the area. Jammu Municipal Corporation issued instructions to the shopkeepers of Bahu Fort area to keep their goods within their shutter line in order to maintain smooth flow of devotes to the holy shrine of Bawe Wali Mata Temple. Jammu Municipal Corporation also appealed to the owners of illegal advertisers to desist from installing hoardings without permission to avoid penal action against them and vendors to ply their rehries only in the rehri zones established by Jammu Municipal Corporation. The shopkeeper/vendors were also warned not to use polythene as the Hon’ble High Court has banned the use of any kind of polythene.
