Press Release on 6th September 2018Commissioner, JMC reviews sanitation scenario of Jammu City.
Sh. Arvind Kotwal (KAS), Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation took a review of sanitation scenario of Jammu City alongwith Sh. Pardeep Manhas (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), JMC during which he stated that Jammu Municipal Corporation is essential service provider and sanitation is also one of the essential service that should be provided in such a most effective way throughout the city so that there could no resentment in respect of providing sanitation facility in Jammu City.
He directed the Health Officer to utilize the men and machinery available with Corporation for maintaining proper sanitation conditions within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation. He also directed the Health Officer to maintain proper attendance of sanitation staff so that there can be no laxity in providing proper sanitation to the inhabitants of the different areas of the city.
He further stressed upon all the Officers to take sanitation of the City as a challenge and come with a road map on their level so that same is deliberated and action is taken on the actionable points.
The Chief Transport Officer was also directed to clear all the collection points well in time and lime be sprayed after lifting the garbage to avoid any kind of foul smell.
The field staff was directed to identify suitable pieces of land for placing bins for segregated garbage in every ward.
He appealed the general public through this medium to extend their helping hand to Jammu Municipal Corporation in maintaining the proper sanitation and also to achieve the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission and Smart City, as without their co-operation it is difficult to achieve the aim of Swachh Bharat Mission as well as to maintain proper sanitation in the City.
Among others Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer, Sh. Talat Mehmood Khan, Chief Transport Officer, Sh. Amitabh Manhas, AEE (Mech.), Sanitation Officers, Sanitary Inspectors and other field staff also participated in the meeting.
