Press release on 23rd Feb 2019Public Health Sanitation Standing Committee, Social Justice Standing Committee and Swacch Bharat Standing Committee meetings was held in Conference Hall of JMC.
Today on 23.02.2019 meetings of Public Health Sanitation Standing Committee, Social Justice Standing Committee and Swacch Bharat Standing Committee were held in the Conference Hall of Jammu Municipal Coporation.The meetings of Standing Committees were chaired by Sh. Baldev Singh, Sh. Jeet Kumar and Sh. Suraj Parkash, Hon’ble Chairpersons of the Standing Committees respectively. The Hon’ble Mayor Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta was the special invitee to attend these Standing Committee(s) meetings. The meeting was attended by the Hon’ble members viz.Smt Tirath Kour Raina, Mtr. Shama Akhtar, Sh. Rajinder Singh, Sh. Narinder Singh, Sh. Sobat Ali, Sh. Arun Kumar Khanna and Sh. Raj Kumar of Public Health Sanitation Standing Committee , Sh. Ajay Gupta , Sh. Sham Lal, Sh. Kuldeep Singh, Smt. Raj Rani, Smt. Tripta Devi, Sh. Subash Sharma, Smt. Ritu Choudhary of Social Justice Standing Committee and Smt. Jyoti Devi, Sh. Gopal Gupta, Sh. Rachpal Bhardwaj, Smt. Sandhya Gupta of Swacch Bharat Standing Committee. Joint Commissioner (A), Sh. Pardeep Singh (KAS), Secretary Smt. Sunaina Sharma (KAS), Assistant Commissioner (R) Sh. Prem Singh (KAS), Joint Commissioner(W),Sh.Jaspal Singh and other senior officers of JMC were also present.
Hon’ble Chairperson of Public Health Sanitation Standing Committee, JMC directed the concerned authorities to explore the functions related to the health,sanitation,drainage and sewerage disposal. The Chairman directed that the trade fee should be recovered from the bulk waste generators like Banquet Halls, Hotels,Big establishments,Shops and Restaurants etc. and also the user charges and sanitation charges should be collected so that the revenue can be generated for the smooth functioning of the corporation.He also directed the Health Officer to take concrete steps for improvement of sanitation in all the wards of JMC.
The Hon’ble Chairperson of Social Justice Standing Committee directed the concerned authorities to promote education, economic, social, and the other interest of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes and weaker sections of the society. He also stressed that Social injustice and all other forms of exploitation should also be protected. Weaker sections of the society should also be uplifted. Awareness programs in each ward of JMC should be conducted so that maximum benefits to the needy persons.
Hon’ble Chairman of Swacch Bharat Standing Committee directed the concerned authorities to monitior and review the progress under “Swacch Bharat Mission” and to take initiatives for betterment of the Jammu City.
The members of the Standing Committee(s) also raised a number of issues and suggestions for effective implementation of the schemes.
The Hon’ble Mayor shared a number of valuable suggestions for better functioning of these Standing Committee(s).He suggested that to improve the sanitation and garbage dumping points, JMC will purchase big dumpers, temporary sheds at different places for segregation of waste, more autos to be provided for lifting of garbage. Awareness programs should be conducted in each ward for general awareness to the public to make Jammu City clean and green.
Assistant Commissioner(R) and Joint Commissioner (A) also the Member Secretary of the Standing Committee(s), JMC assured the Chair that every possible step shall be taken for better implementation of the schemes.
Hon’ble Chairpersons assured all the members that necessary steps are taken for smooth functioning of the corporation and speedy disposal of the grievances of the general public.
