Press Release on 5th July 2019Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive by Jammu Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Indian oil Corporation.
Commissioner, JMC Mr. Pankaj Magotra initiated the special sanitation drive under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) from Narwal to Panama Chowk and Railway Station.
The people of the surrounding areas as well as shopkeepers were made aware about the mission of swacchh Bharat Abhiyan started by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narinder Modi on 2nd oct 2014. In which nearly 4237 cities participated and Indore was awarded 1st prize consecutive three years. This developed a deep sense among the listeners and they assured to do best to bring Jammu in to cleanest city of India.
After making them aware regarding the daily waste of their home and shops they were given two dustbins to collect kitchen waste in blue dustbin and dry or plastic waste in green dustbin. With the consent of people the dumpers are lifted and tempo service of JMC is provided to all the people of locality twice a day to put into segregated daily waste. The public perception was favouring such events and they determined to provide best service to keep clean Jammu.
They further demanded for a special website of JMC where they can upload all the pictures of their surroundings so that any person who will not obey the rule of the JMC in that case fine can be imposed on the defaulters.
Commissioner JMC apprised the gathering that an App of JMC is already existing, the people can upload pictures and file complaint on the said website. The prominent members who were present on the event as well as councilor of the ward appreciated JMC for this. The Councillor also requested people to deposit the routine collection in JMC Office for smooth cleaning.
Contribution of IOC is praiseworthily. They have provided Caps and T-Shirts and refreshments to all the participants. They determined to step again in other parts of Jammu such events with Jammu Municipal Corporation. Officers/Officials of IOC team appreciated the work done by JMC team for undertaking Swachh Bharat Abhiyan drive.
Among others Mr. H.S. Sohi, G.M, I.B (IOC), mr. Sanjeev Sharma Chief area Manager (IOC), Mr. A.K. Wazir, Chief Manager (IOC) Jammu alongwith JMC team members Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer JMC, Dr. Zaffaf Iqbal, Municipal Vetnary Officer JMC, Mr. Talat Mahmood Khan, Chief Transport officer, JMC, Mr. Jorawar Singh, were participated in the drive.
