Press Release on 27th February 2020Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation visited the Municipal Animal Care Centre, Roop Nagar, Jammu.
Today on 27.02.2020, Ms. Avny Lavasa, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC visited the Municipal Animal Care Centre, Roop Nagar, Jammu.
During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed the sterilization programme and other allied activities at MACC, Roop Nagar. She discussed various issues with with Doctors deputed at MACC, Roop Nagar from Animal Husbandry Department. She directed MVO to take immediate steps for improvement and internal issues in the Centre. She also instructed the MVO and Doctors to speed up the work of sterilization programme to immediate control the menace of stray dogs.
The Commissioner further directed for establishment of complaint cell at MACC, Roop Nagar, so that the general public can easily made their complaints and timely disposal thereof. She also planted a tree and on the occasion directed MVO and his staff for undertaking extensive plantation along the periphery of the Animal Care Centre for providing congenial atmosphere to the animals and animal lovers.
During the visit, Ms. Davinder Kaur Madaan, Sr. Vice President, SPCA Jammu was also present and gave suggestions for more improvement of MACC, Roop Nagar and for the welfare of speechless animals.
