2nd Press release on 15th June 2020Procurement of Cattle catcher vehicles
Jammu Municipal Corporation had procured two cattle catcher vehicles recently, are inaugurated today on 15.06.2020 by Hon’ble Mayor, JMC Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta and Hon’ble Dy. Mayor, Adv. Purnima Sharma in presence of Hon’ble Councillor W.No. 8, Dr. Akshay Sharma, Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, Health Officer, JMC, Dr. Shamim Mir, and Executive Engineer, JMC Sh. Ghulam Rasool at JMC stray Cattle Pound, Dogra Hall, Jammu.
The two vehicles procured at the cost of Rs. 30.60 lacs are fully equipped with hydraulic system for easy loading and unloading of animals. With addition of these newly procured cattle catcher vehicles in Veterinary wing of JMC, the menace of stray animals can effectively be contained in Jammu City, besides time bound rescuing the sick and injured stray animals within the limits of JMC.
Hon’ble Mayor also took stock of various activities of Cattle pound, Dogra Hall and was apprised by Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, MVO regarding functioning of Biogas plant and Vermicompost unit in the Cattle pound. He also issued on spot directions to the Executive Engineer for repair & renovation of the complex by floating short tenders at the earliest.
