Celebration of 1st Anniversary of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT)

Jammu Municipal Corporation as a part of country wide celebration of 1st Anniversary of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) celebrated the event in JMC premises wherein, the activities carried out by Jammu Municipal Corporation under AMRUT were highlighted. Jammu city is among the 500 cities selected under AMRUT mission wherein special funding for projects under Storm Water Drainage, Septage Management, Urban Transport, development of Green patches have been sanctioned during the mission period. Jammu Municipal Corporation has been sanctioned projects amounting to Rs. 59.00 Cr. during the financial years 2015-16, which includes projects for drainage network in Jammu City, Development of Pedestrian walkway along the River Tawi from Peerkho to PHE office to facilitate the general public for walking, Development of green patches along both sides of Nallahs & canal at Gangyal (W.No. 56, 58) to provide recreation facility to the people of that locality and to regulate the Traffic in Jammu city , JMC hs planned to install new 34 Intelligent traffic signal lights under the scheme besides procurement of septage machinery for cleaning of big drains. During this financial year JMC will look up the upgradation of 8 big nallas for proper sewage For the financial year 2016-17, projects amounting to Rs. 86.00 Cr. has been sent to the Govt. for approval which includes Multitier Parking at Panjtirthi, drainage and septage management, Dev. Of Green patches, procurement of machinery for septage etc. A live presentation of the celebration event of 1st Anniversary of AMRUT organized at Pune, Maharastra at 4.00 pm onwards was also organized at Conference Hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation which was attended by Sh. R.S. Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (Adm), Sh. Neeraj Gupta, Chief Account Officer, Sh. Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (Works), Sh. Ranjit Singh, Secretary, Ms. Subha Mehta, Assistant Commissioner (Rev.), XEN(T), XEN(C), Dy. Director (Planning), Municipal staff and others stake holders of society were also present in the event. These AMRUT projects when implemented in full will Rejuvenate the Jammu Town and will redressal the parking, drainage, traffic congestion problems besides improving the green patches in the Jammu City. The AMRUT cities have also to undertake certain reforms initiatives for which citizens centric website of Jammu Municipal Corporation has been developed besides launch of mobile app of JMC from which citizens can lodge their complaints/grievances. During last 4 months, 1014 complaints have been received online, out of which, 803 have been redressed and 211 are in process. E-News letter are also been published by JMC on monthly basis on the website for awareness of the general public.
