Press Release on 12th August 2021“RUN FOR CLEANLINESS ” under Swacch Bharat Mission organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation
Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) organized a run from MA Stadium Jammu which was attended by Hon’ble Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor, Adv. Purnima Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langer, ADGP, Jammu, Sh. Mukesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg- IAS, Commissioner JMC, Ms. Avny Lavasa (IAS), SSP, ammu, Sh. Chandan Kohli,Chairmen of Health and Sanitation and Social Justice, and Swachh Bharat Standing Committees, The main aim was to celebrate 'AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV' to mark the 75th day of independence under Swacch Bharat Mission.
The motive of the run is to spread a message and motivate the citizens to avoid use of plastic & replace it with Jute/ paper bags. This run was part of ongoing effort by Jammu Municipal Corporation to spread awareness on the No Polythene Use and avoid plastic under the overall clebratins of Azadi Ka amrut Mahostav.
The Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation stated that “Our objective is to bring 100% avoiding of Plastic and replace it Jute bags and other biodegradable products. Jammu Municipal Corporation is putting its best effort to convince public to avoid the plastic products.
The Hon’ble Mayor stated on the occasion that need of the hour is to aware the general masses about the effects of plastic on environment as well as for humans and added that JMC shall impose penalty/fine on the defaulters if found using plastic and impressed upon to put extra efforts to eradicate the menace of plastic.
Among others Councillors Amit Gupta, Gopal Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner(A) Sh. Pankaj Gupta-KAS, Joint commissioner (Enforcement) Sh. Hitesh Gupta-KAS, Assistant Commissioner Revenue- Sh. Sudhir bali- KAS, Health Officer JMC-Dr. Sanjogita Sudan and Officers/Official of JMC were present.
