Press Release on 27th September 2021Kachra Alag Karo Amrit Diwas, initiated by Jammu Municipal Corporation under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Jammu Municipal Corporation under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrated Kachra Alag Karo Amrit Diwas in order to spread the concept of Segregation of waste at source among the citizens in all 75 wards. The training was given by 10 individuals (swachhagrahis) from each ward consisting of Sanitary Inspectors and Zonal Area Managers (IEC Team) of JMC. The concept of Tri – dustbins is introduced and Segregation at Source was the main themes that can help the ULB, organize/ manage the Solid waste in the initial stages are introduced to citizens. Moreover the monitoring of Solid waste management in the respective wards is done. In the event rag pickers were also involved and motivated by the Sanitary Officials so that the waste would be picked by the rag pickers at source solving the purpose of minimization of collection of waste.
