Jammu Municipal Corporation Celebrate World Animal day at Municipal Animal Care Centre,Roop nagar Jammu

Every year on 4 October, World Animal Day is celebrated across the globe. Also known as Animal Lovers' Day, the global initiative for animal rights is aimed at raising awareness about their importance in the ecosystem and improving their welfare standards. Besides, the day also seeks to address the plight of animals, both wild and domestic, and initiate better efforts towards their protection and conservation. Today Jammu Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Friendicoes NGO Celebrated World Animal day at Municipal Animal Care Centre,Roop nagar Jammu . On this occasion, Councillor Ward no. 62 ,Smt. Rekha Manhas was the Chief guest and function was presided over by Municipal Veterinary officer, Dr Sushil Kumar sharma. Many renowned animal activists ,Vets and other staff of Municipal Animal Care Centre, Roop Nagar were also present to celebrate this day. Many Animal activists of Jammu ,Vets , paravets and other staff were given Certificate of appreciation by Smt Rekha manhas and Dr sushil kumar Sharma. Smt Rekha Manhas and Dr sushil kumar sharma thanks all animal lovers, vets and other staff for their selfless contribution for the welfare of Animals and all dignitaries including staff took pledge to keep working for welfare of animals with more zeal and enthusiasm. Animals play a crucial role in the environment, from maintaining ecological balance to bringing about human wellness. Along with recognizing this importance, World Animal day also ensures that efforts are continued to be made to provide the animals with better rescue shelters, launch better animal welfare programmes and raise necessary funds for them.
