Press Release on 1st August 2022JMC has conducted an intensive drive for checking the illegal use of Single use plastic/polythene in all the three zones randomly.
As per the directions of the Worthy Commissioner JMC, the team of Health Section, JMC along with Sanitation Officers, Asstt. Sanitation Officers, Sanitary Inspectors, Sanitary Supervisors, JMC has conducted an intensive drive for checking the illegal use of Single use plastic/polythene in all the three zones randomly and has seized 19 KG (approx.) Single use plastic / polythene on 01.08.2022 and imposed fine to the tune of Rs. 26700/- at Prem Nagar, Toph Sherkhania, Patta Paloura, Udheywala, Bohri, Channi Himmat and Trikuta Nagar.
Further the Health Officer JMC has appealed to the General Public to extend their cooperation in curbing the illegal use of Single use Plastic/Polythene which is a penalizing offence under Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 read with J&K byelaws SWM 2019. The Jammu Municipal Corporation is hoping to meet the challenge together with the General Public to make environment sustainable and eco-friendly.
